HISTORY
The Educational Information & Resource Center (EIRC) is a non-profit agency specializing in education related programs and services for parents, schools, communities and non profit organizations. The agency is 37 years old and reaches into more than 36 states and 20 foreign countries. EIRC offers many resources under one roof. These range from gifted and special education services to creative problem solving … from nationally validated programs in science and mathematics to early childhood education and child assault prevention… and from teacher in-service and curriculum design to international exchange programs.
FOUNDATION DESCRIPTION
EIRC was founded in 1976 and is a public agency with a Local Education Agency (LEA) status. The LEA status positions the EIRC to be eligible for additional grants working with public school districts and/or higher education institutions, as well as developing inter-local agency agreements with public and governmental entities. In addition, EIRC has a 501(c)(3) educational foundation status. This foundation will hold the charter for the Science and Technology Education Center. The Board of Directors reflects the blending of the corporate world with the education world.
