The EIRC in partnership with NJEA, South Jersey Academy and other organizations will host a Green Schools Curriculum Development workshop from July 7th through July 10th.
Join us and be a part of the "Green Team" of about 30 teachers that have experience with curriculum writing and are willing to commit 5 days ( July 7, 8, 9,10 and one reflective day in early fall)
These teachers will work alongside green industry professionals to create a curriculum that utilizes the school building as a teaching tool combining environmental education, the systems of a school building and outdoor education. Participation for this workshop will be based on an application process with equal distribution of Elementary, Middle and High School teachers. This is a great opportunity to be on the ground floor of an exciting collaboratively created curriculum. The primary areas to be addressed are... Sustainable sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Innovation and Design.
Each teacher will receive stipend of $375.00 for the five days and 40 hours of Professional Development hours.
Our Purpose: To promote a high level of sustainability literacy so that all schools in New Jersey will be environmentally healthy place to learn, work and play.
Dates: July 7, 8, 9,10 and one reflective day in early Fall.
Location for July Workshop: EIRC
Location for reflective day: TBA
