Meet the Staff

Gregory S. Smith MSW, LCSW., Program Director

Mr. Smith, our Program Director has a history of over twenty years experience in medical social work and youth development. He has worked in two major New Jersey hospitals as a medical social worker supervised several school based teen pregnancy prevention initiatives in Atlantic county. Prior to coming to MVP, he was worked providing direct social work to children and families who were victims of sexual abuse through the Dorothy B. Hersh Regional Child Protection Center at Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick. He continues to work for Saint Peters as a per diem social worker in addition to providing consultant and clinical social work for several other community entities.
Mrs. Jessica Fitzgerald-Nowlan, Mental Health Counselor

Mrs. Fitzgerald-Nowlan has extensive training in child and adolescent development and psychology. As a Counselor for MVP, she relies daily on her previous clincial-counseling experience and knowledge when providing therapeutic interventions to students. It is through her previous experience in local social service agencies and county government offices that she has a strong familiarity in working with children in foster care, special needs, behavioral health and with children who have been physically or sexually abused. In addition, she shares a solid administrative background, however, made a conscious decision to join our team in an effort to have more direct contact with students.
"Ms. Jessica" truly enjoys her daily interactions and exchanges with students and staff at WHS.
Mr. Corey Laramore, Youth Development Specialist

Mr. Laramore is a graduate of Trenton Central High School. His most recent employment history included working for the Trenton Police Department as a Youth Counselor. In that capacity he was relied upon to assist the officers in a wide variety of Youth Development initiatives which included conflict resolution, group and individual counseling. He has received trainings in community gang reduction strategies, conflict resolution, and served on several key advisory committees in the City of Trenton that addressed Youth Truancy. He remains very active in his church Prison Ministry, and serves as a youth ministry liaison. Mr. Laramore plans to continue to pursue his education in the mental health field.
Ruby L. Thomas, Health Educator

Mrs. Thomas has a combined position of Administrator and Health Educator. Administrative she is responsible for the general secretarial duties, such as newsletter, MIS system updates and meeting/planning organization. As the Health Educator she is responsible for group implementing and facilitating various program, such as: It's All About Me and To Be Freaky or Responsible. In part time position Mrs. Thomas brings her 10 years of experience in advocating for our youth.
She formed P.O.S.T.E.C. and non-profit organization which provides youths and adults with Job Readiness Skills, Life Skills, Career Path and Motivational Workshops. She has collaborated with Burlington County Juvenile Detention Center, Delran High School, Burlington City High School and many youth organizations in the area.
As a mother of two teen daughters she listens with a non-judgmental ear, and add her special flavor of motherly love along with a voice of authority.
Mrs. Kia Hill, Administrative Assistant

Ms. Hill worked for the past two years as a clerk typist in the Guidance Department at Willingboro School District, most recently for the High School Child Study Team. She provides a wide knowledge base of the high school and has proven to be a valuable asset in our efforts to orient to school policy and procedures both district wide and within the high school. Ms. Hill is actively interested in pursuing social work as a profession, and plans to enroll in school in the near future
