Cold Springs Club List

Below is a list of clubs offered to students in the New Jersey After 3 program at Cold Springs:

• Making friends (K-3rd):   Children will play games and learn more about the children in their class. They will work on the importance of being kind to one another and focus on group activities that help the students work together.
• Aerobics (K-3rd):  Children will exercise and learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle while having a great time with their friends.
• Art (K - 3rd ): Children will learn about many artist of the past and try the art techniques they used in the creation of their pieces. This club is focusing on sparking the interest of art in our children during the early years of their life.
• Science (K - 3rd): Children will work with the teacher on science experiments so they can learn about science in an alternative way.
• Getting Along Together (K - 3rd): Activities that will focus on character education and teach children how to interact with their peers in many different situations.
• Music (K - 3rd): Children will learn more about music (how to play instruments, rhythm, singing). This club will include the development of a concert at the end of the session.
• Puppet Show Theatre (K - 1st): Children will work with puppets and will get the chance to make their own. They will then use their creativity to create their own puppet show for our families to see.
• The Great Pretenders (Kindergarten): Children will be able to dress up as whomever they can imagine themselves to be. They will read fairytales and learn about imaginative characters throughout history.
• Foundations Curriculum (K - 3rd): Children will follow the theme-based curriculum that we implemented at the beginning of this year. 
• Newspaper (K - 3rd): The students will interview members of Cold Springs School and write articles on what is currently happening in our program.
• Where we live! (2nd - 3rd): Children will follow a new curriculum based on the State of New Jersey. Activities will be provided and the children will learn about the history and culture of the state of New Jersey.
• Show us your Talent! (K - 3rd): Children will prepare for a talent show during this club. The Teacher will work with them on stage performance and developing many talents they have.
• Little Chefs of NJA3 / Candy Making (K - 3rd): This club will teach children how to "cook" by learning the importance of following directions.
• Trash to Treasures (K - 3rd): In this club the students will recycle materials found in the home (egg cartons, toilet paper rolls...etc.) and make crafts out of them.  
• Jewelry Making (K - 3rd): Children will make necklaces, bracelets and key chains using different materials.
• Little Theatre (K - 3rd): Children will follow a theatre curriculum and will put on a play for a Fun Friday at the end of the Club session                               
• Poetry (2nd - 3rd): Children will learn about different poets of today and in our past. They will work on developing their own poetry and sharing it with the class.
• Dance (K - 3rd): Children will learn dance from an instructor. This may include Ballet, Jazz, and Tap.
• Sign Language (K - 3rd): The Children will learn basic signs and how to communicate through signing.
• Intramural Sports (K, 1st, 2nd - 3rd): Soccer, Basketball, Football, Cheerleading…etc. We will work with the children on the understanding of the game and their individual skills. These children will also learn sportsmanship and how to be part of a team.
